How Gmarket works
Gmarket (지마켓) is one of Korea's largest and longest-running open marketplaces, where thousands of independent sellers compete on price across fashion, electronics, sports gear, home goods, and daily consumables. If you're comparing prices across Korean sellers for almost anything, Gmarket is usually one of the first places to look.
스타배송Star Delivery
Shipped from Gmarket's fulfilment centre on a guaranteed date, 7 days a week: order by midnight on weekdays or 22:00 at weekends for next day. ₩3,000, free from ₩15,000.
오늘출발Ships today
The seller dispatches the same day if paid before the cut-off shown on the item, set between 09:00 and 18:00. It promises departure, not arrival.
해외직구Ships from outside Korea
Sent from outside Korea: usually 7–10 business days, up to two weeks, and the recipient's personal clearance code (개인통관고유부호) is required.

Watch out for
-
Orders can be cancelled for stockSellers can cancel after payment for a stock-out or restock delay, and 스타배송 orders are cancelled automatically if stock runs short. Either way, we refund you in full.
-
Change-of-mind returns cost shippingFor a change of mind the buyer pays the round-trip shipping, taken out of the refund. We handle the return in Korean, but the seller's return fee still applies.
-
Installed appliances take longerAppliances and furniture that need installation usually take 7–10 business days; if one runs late, we chase the seller in Korean.
Tips for ordering Gmarket through us
- Look for the 스타배송 tag if you need it tomorrow; 판매자 스타배송 items are run by the seller, ship separately and charge the seller's own fee.
- 스타배송 items from different sellers bought together share one ₩3,000 fee and ship free from ₩15,000, so list them in the same order form.
- Send the item link from the Korean Gmarket site with the option text exactly as shown, rather than a Gmarket Global link.
Why foreigners get stuck on Gmarket — and what we do
Gmarket does run an English site, Gmarket Global, but it serves buyers outside Korea; delivery to a Korean address goes through the Korean site, where checking out means Korean identity verification and a Korean-issued card — steps most foreigners in Korea simply can't complete. Send us the Gmarket listing, option, and quantity, and we place the order on our own verified Korean account with your Korean address as the delivery address, so the seller — or Gmarket's own 스타배송 (Star Delivery) — brings it straight to your door.

Gmarket — frequently asked questions
What happened to Gmarket Smile Delivery (스마일배송)?
Gmarket ended 스마일배송 on 18 April 2025 and relaunched its fulfilment delivery as 스타배송 (Star Delivery). Star Delivery items show a guaranteed arrival date and arrive the next day when ordered by midnight on weekdays or by 22:00 at weekends, Sundays included. We order them like any other item, so just send the product link.
How long does Gmarket delivery take?
스타배송 items arrive the next day. Ordinary seller items usually take 2–3 business days, while installed appliances, furniture and items shipped from outside Korea take about 7–10 business days. Dates count from when we place the order, not from when you send it to us.
Can I buy from Gmarket without Korean ID verification?
Yes. Gmarket Global, the English site, is built for delivery outside Korea, so orders to a Korean address go through the Korean site and its Korean identity verification, which most foreigners in Korea can't complete. Send us the listing link from the Korean site and the option, pay by PayPal, and we place the order on our verified Korean account.
What does Order in Korea charge?
Our fee is 10% of the item price, with a $5 minimum and a $20 minimum order, shown before you pay. Most of it covers real costs — PayPal takes about 4.4% plus $0.30, and currency conversion adds roughly 3–4% — leaving us with an actual margin of about 2–4%.
Where will my Gmarket order be delivered?
Any Korean address you give us: an apartment, an officetel, a dorm, a hotel or short-term rental, or an office. We enter it exactly as Gmarket's system expects, and the seller's courier or Gmarket's 스타배송 delivers it directly — the parcel never passes through us.
Gmarket has thousands of sellers — what if I'm unsure which option to pick?
Tell us what you're after in the order notes — size, color, set, quantity — and we'll check the Korean listing and confirm the right option before we place the order, so there's no guessing on a page you can't fully read.
