How Aladin works
Aladin (알라딘) is a Korean institution for book lovers, known both for its huge new-book catalogue and its large used-book market (중고샵), where every copy is graded 최상, 상 or 중. It also sells K-pop albums, DVDs and its own goods, and in the capital area 양탄자배송 can bring an order the same evening.

알라딘 직접배송 중고Aladin-shipped used
Used copies graded and shipped by Aladin from its logistics centre. They ship free from ₩20,000 and can be returned through Aladin's own site.
판매자 배송 중고Seller-shipped used
Sent by an individual seller within about 5 days, with that seller's shipping fee. Returns and exchanges are arranged with the seller, not through Aladin's site.

Used grades are broad최상 is near-new, 상 shows light wear, and 중 can have writing on up to 5 pages or a missing dust jacket; a used idol album graded 중 may lack a photocard. We read the listing notes and can ask the seller in Korean first.

Pre-orders slow down same-day itemsIf a pre-order sits in the same order as same-day items, everything is delivered the day after dispatch instead. Pre-orders ship free on release, so we can put them in a separate order.

Opened albums are finalNew items can be returned within 20 days of receipt, but not albums or DVDs whose wrapping is removed, and direct-import items cost 20% to cancel once ordered. We handle returns in Korean; Aladin's own fees apply.

Why foreigners get stuck on Aladin — and what we do
Aladin does send orders outside Korea (paid in won) and runs Aladin US for North America, so if you're outside Korea you may not need us. In Korea, though, you want a domestic order to a Korean address, and that runs through a Korean-language checkout built around Korean payment methods. Order in Korea buys on your behalf using a verified local account and has the order delivered straight to your Korean address, whether that's a share house, officetel or dormitory.

What do Aladin's used-book grades 최상, 상 and 중 mean?
최상 is close to new with no marks, 상 has light signs of use but is clean, and 중 is clearly used and may have writing or underlining on up to 5 pages or no dust jacket. For used idol albums, 중 can mean a photocard is missing. We read the listing notes before buying and can ask the seller about condition in Korean.
Can Aladin deliver the same day?
Yes, with 양탄자배송 in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon: paid by 1pm on a weekday, it arrives between 6pm and 11pm that day, and paid between 3pm and 10pm it arrives before work the next morning. Major metropolitan cities get same-day delivery for orders paid by about noon on weekdays. There is no extra fee beyond normal shipping, but only in-stock items qualify.
Can I order from Aladin in Korea without a Korean card or account?
Yes. Send us the product or used-copy listing link along with the option and quantity, pay us by PayPal, and we purchase it using our verified Korean account and have it delivered to your Korean address. Aladin's own delivery outside Korea and Aladin US serve customers outside the country; inside Korea, we place a normal domestic order.
What does it cost to order through Order in Korea?
We charge 10% of the item's Korean won price, with a $5 minimum fee and a $20 minimum order total. Most of that fee covers PayPal processing and currency conversion rather than profit — our actual margin is roughly 2–4%. You'll see the full breakdown before paying.
Where can Aladin orders be delivered?
Any valid Korean address: your apartment, officetel, university dormitory, workplace, or a hotel or Airbnb you're staying at. Aladin's courier — or the seller's, for seller-shipped used books — delivers directly, just as it would for a Korean customer.
Can you check the condition of a used book before I buy it?
Yes. Tell us which listing you're considering and we'll check the condition notes, edition and any seller remarks in Korean before confirming the purchase, so you know what you're getting.
