1. Introduction
Order in Korea (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect through https://www.orderinkorea.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable data-protection laws, including Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where relevant, the GDPR and CCPA.

2. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service:

  • Contact details: your email address, the recipient’s name and, if you provide it, a phone number.

  • Order details: the product links, options, quantities and prices you enter, and your order and payment history.

  • Delivery details: the Korean delivery address and any delivery notes, including hotel or short-term-rental information.

  • Communications: messages you exchange with us, including courier-relay messages.

  • Usage data: when you visit the Site, we record the pages you view and for how long, the website, search or campaign that referred you, your browser, device and language, and your approximate location (country, region and city) estimated from your IP address. For these statistics we keep only a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself, and we do not use cookies for them. We also record the IP address used to request an email verification code, to prevent abuse.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:

  • Purchase items on your behalf and send you order updates by email.

  • Verify your address and arrange and track delivery.

  • Relay communication with couriers and respond to your questions.

  • Process refunds, returns, and exchanges, and meet legal and accounting obligations.

  • Understand how the Site is used and which channels lead to orders, and protect the Site against abuse.

We do not use your information for unrelated marketing or sell it to third parties.

4. Sharing Your Information
We share information only as needed to fulfill your order: with retailers (for example Coupang or Olive Young) to place purchases, with couriers to complete delivery, and with our payment provider to process payment. We may disclose information where required by law. We do not rent or sell your personal information. In addition, to estimate approximate location from an IP address, we send the IP address to an IP-geolocation service (ipwho.is), which returns the location; we share nothing else with it.

To run the Site we also use service providers that process data on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts our server and database in Seoul, Korea, and sends our emails through Amazon SES in the United States; Cloudflare carries traffic to the Site through its global network and runs the anti-spam check on our forms (Turnstile); and jsDelivr delivers fonts and page styles to your browser, so it receives your IP address. Each receives only what it needs for its task.

5. Payment Data
Payments are processed by PayPal. We never receive or store your full card or bank details; PayPal handles your payment information under its own privacy policy. We retain only the transaction reference needed to manage your order and any refund.

6. International Data Transfers
Because we serve customers from many countries, your information may be processed outside your home country, including in the Republic of Korea and the United States. Where information is transferred internationally, we take appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

7. Data Retention
We keep your personal information only for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When it is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymize it. Detailed visit records are deleted after 90 days; only anonymous daily totals are kept.

8. Security
We apply reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

9. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.

  • Object to or request restriction of certain processing.

  • Request a copy of your information (data portability).

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

10. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, remember your language and operate the Site. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may affect how the Site works.
