Bunjang (번개장터) is a Korean secondhand app where individuals and small shops sell used and unused goods, from sneakers, streetwear and luxury bags to phones, K-pop merchandise, vintage clothing, and home goods. It's the place to hunt for rare, discontinued, or hard-to-source items at prices set directly by Korean sellers.

Bunjang's built-in payment, now required for every purchase: the money is held until the buyer confirms receipt, and buyers pay no fee. Paying a seller any other way loses all protection.

Optional paid check on eligible luxury, sneaker and phone listings: the seller sends the item to Bunjang, which verifies authenticity or function before sending it on. Fee from ₩20,000.

반값택배Half-price store pickup

Cheaper GS25 or CU option many sellers offer: the parcel goes to a convenience store, not your door, and must be collected with a QR code within 3–4 days or it goes back.

예약중Reserved

The seller is holding the item for someone else, so it can't be bought right now. 판매완료 means it has already sold; 판매중 means it is still for sale.

Before you order from Bunjang

Watch out for

  • Condition and authenticity varyItems come from individuals, and the seller picks the condition grade, e.g. 사용감 적음 (light wear). Bunjang doesn't check ordinary listings, so we ask the seller in Korean about flaws, extra photos and proof of purchase first.
  • No change-of-mind returnsPrivate secondhand sales aren't covered by Korea's e-commerce return law, so a seller can refuse returns for a change of mind or wrong size. Undisclosed defects must be raised before purchase confirmation; the seller then pays the return.
  • Bunjang confirms automatically on day 3Purchase confirmation (구매확정) happens automatically on the third day after delivery and the seller is paid at once; after that there are no refunds or returns. Check the item as soon as it arrives and tell us about any problem.
  • Requests to pay outside the appScammers ask for a bank transfer, move the chat to KakaoTalk or text messages, share outside links, or ask for purchase confirmation before delivery. We only ever pay through Bunjang's 안전결제, so these requests end the deal.

Tips for ordering Bunjang through us

  • Put your questions in the order notes (scratches, battery health, measurements, box and receipt) and we'll ask the seller in Korean before paying.
  • For luxury, sneakers or phones, write 번개케어 in the notes if the listing offers it: the check costs extra and adds a few days, but authenticity is confirmed before delivery.
  • Many listings also offer cheaper 반값택배, which leaves the parcel at a GS25 or CU store for you to collect; say in the notes if you'd prefer that to door delivery.
  • Avoid 메루카리 (Mercari Japan) listings if you need it soon: they ship from outside Korea, take 1–2 weeks and need the recipient's personal clearance code (개인통관고유부호).

Bunjang — frequently asked questions

How do I know a Bunjang item is genuine?

Ordinary listings aren't checked by Bunjang, so before buying we ask the seller in Korean for receipts, serial numbers and close-up photos. For eligible luxury, sneaker and phone listings you can add 번개케어 (Bunjang Care) for a fee, and Bunjang checks the item before it is sent on to you.

Can I return a Bunjang item I don't like?

Usually not: private secondhand sales aren't covered by Korea's e-commerce return law, so a seller can refuse returns for a change of mind, size or colour, although sellers registered as businesses must follow normal return rules. If the item has undisclosed damage or differs from the listing, the seller has to take it back and pay the return shipping, as long as it's raised before purchase confirmation. We handle that negotiation with the seller in Korean.

What happens if the Bunjang seller cancels or never ships?

Our payment stays with Bunjang's 안전결제 until purchase confirmation, so the seller isn't paid for an item that never arrives. If the seller cancels, or doesn't ship and we cancel the order, Bunjang refunds the payment and we refund you in full. Listings marked 예약중 (reserved) or 판매완료 (sold) can't be bought, so we check the status before ordering.

Can I buy from Bunjang sellers if I don't speak Korean?

Yes. Order in Korea handles the Korean side for you — we message the seller, confirm price and condition, and pay through Bunjang's 안전결제 (Safe Payment). You only need to talk to us, in English, from start to finish.

How is the price and fee worked out for a secondhand item?

Bunjang prices are set by individual sellers, and Bunjang itself charges buyers no fee. Before we pay the seller, we confirm in Korean that the item is still available at the listed price. Our fee is 10% of that price, with a $5 minimum and a $20 minimum order — most of it covers PayPal and currency-conversion costs, so our actual margin is roughly 2–4%.

Where can Bunjang items be delivered?

Any Korean address: an apartment, officetel, dormitory, hotel, or Airbnb. We give the seller your address directly, so their courier delivers straight to you — the parcel never passes through us.

Can I just use Bunjang Global instead?

Bunjang Global is Bunjang's English site, built for buyers outside Korea. For delivery to a Korean address, we buy on the Korean app for you — in Korean, through 안전결제 — and the seller ships straight to your door.
