# Order in Korea

> Order in Korea is a buy-for-you shopping service for foreigners who are **already in South Korea** — living, studying, working, or travelling here — who cannot complete checkout on Korean online stores. The customer pastes a product link, option, quantity and Korean-won (₩) price into an order form and pays in their own currency with PayPal. Order in Korea then places and pays for the order on the Korean store using a verified local account, entering the customer's Korean address, so the store's own courier delivers straight to the customer's door inside Korea.

Order in Korea is NOT a package forwarder and NOT an international shipping service. Parcels never pass through an Order in Korea warehouse and are never shipped out of Korea. There is no customs step and no import duty. Every delivery address is a Korean address: an apartment, officetel, university dormitory, office, hotel or Airbnb in South Korea.

The barriers it removes: Korean sites reject most foreign-issued cards, demand a Korean mobile number for SMS/ARS identity verification, present a Korean-only interface, expect a Korean-format address, and rely on Korean-language courier phone calls and return processes.

Customers authenticate with a passwordless email one-time code (OTP) — no account or password is created.

## What Order in Korea does

1. **Pays with a card Korean stores accept.** The customer pays by PayPal with any international card; Order in Korea places and pays for the order on the Korean store with a verified local account.
2. **Verifies the delivery address.** The customer writes the address in English; Order in Korea matches it to the Korean address system and enters it correctly so the courier can find the building, floor and unit.
3. **Answers the courier’s call in Korean.** Korean couriers phone before delivering. The order carries Order in Korea’s contact details, so they take the call and arrange the drop-off.
4. **Handles exchanges and returns.** Korean return and exchange processes run in Korean by phone or chat; Order in Korea deals with the store on the customer’s behalf.

## Pricing

- Service fee: **10% of the item price, minimum $5**. Minimum order value $20. The full total is shown before payment.
- Customers pay the **Korean retail price** of the item; products are not marked up.
- Most of the fee is cost, not profit: PayPal takes about 4.4% + $0.30 per payment, and converting the customer's currency into Korean won costs roughly another 3.8%. The remaining margin is about **2–4%**.
- Payment currencies: USD, EUR. All payments run through PayPal and are covered by PayPal Buyer Protection.
- **Orders over $1,000:** the customer can pay by Wise transfer instead of PayPal. That avoids most of the payment-processing and currency-conversion cost, so the service fee is discounted. Customers should contact Order in Korea before ordering to get a quote.
- If an item turns out to be out of stock, the customer is refunded.
